People Moves: Millennium Hires Industry Veteran to Oversee Continued Asian Expansion

New York (HedgeCo.net) – Millennium Management LLC, a New York-based global investment management firm, announced today that it has broadened its Asian platform by naming Kunho Cho as the firm’s Chairman, Asia. Mr. Cho was formerly Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific, for Lehman Brothers. In this newly created role, Mr. Cho will be responsible for overseeing Millennium’s growing business in the region, including its interaction with government officials, regulators and Asia-based investors.

Millennium also announced that Hyung Lee will become Senior Managing Director, Head of Asian Capital Markets. Mr. Lee was formerly Head of Asian Fixed Income Markets at Millennium, a role he held since joining the firm in November 2008. Millennium veteran since 2006, Michael Robinson, will continue in his role as the Asian Regional Manager, responsible for day-to-day business activities, including the management of over 70 professionals across the firm’s Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore offices. He will also continue to serve as General Counsel, International.

Mr. Cho joined Lehman Brothers in 1989 was appointed the firm’s first Asia-based Vice Chairman in April 2007. Mr. Cho holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, where he is currently a member of the Board of Overseers, and he received an MBA from Columbia University.
