Mercer Clients Get Fee Cuts in Half of Hedge Fund Investments

Bloomberg – Mercer, which manages and advises clients on $37 billion of hedge-fund investments, said it has negotiated management-fee cuts for them in half of the cases.

Clients outside the U.S. pay an average annual management fee of 1.35 percent after the reductions on the $3 billion of hedge-fund investments the global consulting firm runs for them, said London-based Bill Muysken, chief investment officer of alternatives. Management fee discounts average about 0.5 percent for that pool, he said in an interview.
