Cambridge hedge fund sues Galvin over registration flap

Boston Business Journal – A Cambridge hedge fund manager is taking Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin to court, claiming the state’s top securities regulator is meddling in the firm’s transition to federal registration.

In a complaint filed in U.S. District Court late last week, Opaleye Management Inc. argues that Galvin’s office granted the firm’s request to withdraw its state registration, but then reversed course, leaving Opaleye registered with both the state securities division and theU.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
