Several Hedge Funds Sold Positions In Apple Fourth Quarter

New York (HedgeCo.Net) According to a recent report by CNBC, several high profile hedge funds sold all or part of their positions on Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) during the fourth quarter of 2014. Greenlight Capital cut its stake in Apple during the fourth quarter by 6.2% to 8.6 million shares.

Coatue Management sold 1.7 million shares at the end of the quarter, lowering their stake in AAPL by 15 %, but the company is still the biggest holding in the portfolio.
Soroban Capital Partners sold 4.3 million call options on Apple and that liquidated the fund’s entire position.

Finally, Appaloosa Management reported that it had sold all of its stake in AAPL.
Despite the selling the stock was still able to gain 11.77% in the fourth quarter and it is up another 16.27% so far in 2015.
