Judge urges perjury counts in fraud case be dismissed

StarTribune – A federal magistrate judge recommended Monday that three perjury counts against former hedge fund operator James Fry be dismissed.

Fry, whose hedge fund invested in the Tom Petters Ponzi scheme, still faces five counts of securities fraud and four counts of mail fraud for his alleged role in steering investors into the $3.65 billion fraud.
