People Moves: Butterfield Fulcrum Builds Out Hedge Fund Team

Butterfield Fulcrum, a top five independent alternative fund administration company by assets under administration, announced the expansion of its US business development team with the recent addition of Christine Egan. Egan joins Bill Neville, Jim Gabriele, John Peterson and Bill Henderson under the leadership of T. Andrew Smith, Global Business Development Head. Since joining in April 2009, Smith has quickly built a global sales team of seasoned professionals to meet the growing demand for transparency, independence and flexibility in the hedge fund sector. Under his leadership, Butterfield Fulcrum has opened a Chicago office, upgraded its US headquarters in New York City to accommodate further growth and attracted significant talent to the firm.

We feel our product will benefit hedge fund managers and the tens of millions of individual investors they represent.”

Egan is a founding member of The Alliance of Alternative Asset Professionals (TAAAP) and joins from Kaufman Rossin Fund Services (KRFS) where she was Director of Business Development. Ms. Egan’s previous experience includes Head of Regional Sales for Bank of Bermuda/HSBC and Vice President in Client Consulting for Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage. Ms. Egan began her career with Coopers & Lybrand in Boston, MA where she received her CPA designation in 1993. In addition to her strong sales skills, Ms. Egan brings a wealth of operational and best practice experience gained from her nearly 20 years on Wall Street. Her experience in the asset servicing industry includes sales, marketing, technology infrastructure and systems, and client relationship management.

Neville joined Butterfield Fulcrum as Managing Director, Strategic Business Development in May 2009, and has more than 25 years experience in the management of firms providing technology based services to the financial industry. He most recently served as managing director at CITI responsible for the hedge fund services business. Prior to that, he held several positions at BISYS Inc., rising to the position of President, alternative investment services in the final years of a 15 year career with the firm.

Gabriele, previously of Caledonian Fund Services USA, LLC, runs the Chicago office and serves as Managing Director, Head of Strategy. He is joined in Chicago by John Peterson, also previously of Caledonian Fund Services USA , LLC, who serves as Managing Director of Business Development.

Henderson has been with Butterfield Fulcrum for almost 2 years and has more than 15 years of experience in financial markets, working most recently with Merrill Lynch, and previously Citigroup’s Smith Barney unit.
